Woodlands View former Mayor cuts ribbon for Platinum JubileeOn the 4th of June, one of the Residents, reprised her role as Mayor when she cut the ceremonial ribbon to start the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Woodlands View care home, which offers residential, nursing and nursing dementia care.

Lilian Strange, a former Mayor of Stevenage, was cheered by fellow Residents and Colleagues as she cut the ribbon at the home while the National Anthem was played. The ceremonial cutting marked the start of the Jubilee celebrations at the home.

It was a weekend of fun activities and delicious food, including a buffet lunch, cream tea, a royal quiz, and karaoke (which certainly kept everyone entertained!)

Christine Beschi, who lives at Woodlands View, commented, “What a fabulous day.”

Aimee Hammond, Assistant Administrator, remarked, “I think it is fantastic that Lilian had the opportunity to enjoy being Mayor for another day.”
