Zip Line Fundraiser for Telford care home Resident fundA relative of a resident at HC-One’s Priorslee House care home, in Telford, Shropshire, has taken on a zip line challenge to raise money for the care home’s comfort fund.

Elaine Baines, whose mother-in-law Joan Baines lives at the recently built care home offering residential and residential dementia care, recently completed the Velocity zip line that runs above Penrhyn Quarry in north Wales. In doing so, Ms Baines raised over £250 for the care home’s Resident comfort fund, which is used by Residents to support trips, entertainment and other communal activities and items.

The zip line is the fastest in the word and runs 500 metres above a bright blue quarry lake. Completing the challenge was no small feat for Ms Baines, who has a fear of heights.

Speaking after finishing the Velocity zip line, Ms Baines said:
“It was a great experience, I’m glad I did it. It was worth facing my fears to raise money for Priorslee House!”.

Jess Stokes, Resident Liaison and Admissions Manager at Priorslee House, said:
"What a fantastic way to raise money for such a worthy cause. I know Elaine has a fear of heights, so this is such an achievement!"
