‘Beautiful’ Northwich care home with new flattering entrance for every festive seasonIt’s all too common now that when the seasons change, we like to change our décor and embrace the coming weeks and months. But for HC-One’s Daneside Mews care home, in Northwich, Cheshire, colleagues have taken it one step further and change their entire entrance display, which cheerily welcomes residents, colleagues and visitors in and out the home, brightening everyone’s day.

Whenever a special occasion takes place, whether that be annual events such as Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, or milestone once in a lifetime events, such as the Platinum Jubilee or the King’s Coronation, there’s no doubt Daneside Mews colleagues will have something up their sleeve.

The home’s wellbeing team, including Trudi Smith and Linda White, unleash their creative flair to plan and create the beautiful displays (always well in advance of the big day). The most recent display is the Easter theme which is packed full of spring flowers, twinkle lights, chicks and bunnies and was erected just this week.

Kali Whitbread, Home Manager at Daneside Mews, said:
“This special place in our home is where everybody goes in with a big smile.

We have been decorating the front of our home for going on two years, and we always get compliments on how lovely it is and how welcoming and warming it is.

Many visitors we have such as professionals, families and walk arounds always compliment on the front.

We even have staff from our sister home (Daneside Court) saying it always makes them smile when they see it.”

Barbara Court, who lives at Daneside Mews, said:
“Every time I go in and out of Daneside Mews, I am always so happy to see what the new display is. It really does brighten up the home (and everyone’s mood too).

The staff here work so hard, which in turn makes this such a beautiful place to live.”

Last year, the care home entered the HC-One Summer Sparkle Prize Draw, competing against another 260 homes across England, Scotland and Wales, and achieved ‘Runner Up’ in the Outdoor Great First Impression Photo Competition.

Kali Whitbread commented,
“Daneside Mews taking part in the Sparkle Competition isn’t just for now, we have the sparkling competition all year round.”

And the home has certainly lived up to Kali’s promise, still sparkling almost a year later!
