“A Real Sense of Community”: Pamela Nash MP Visits Kirknowe Care Home in WishawHC-One Scotland’s Kirknowe Care Home in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, welcomed Pamela Nash, MP for Motherwell, Wishaw and Carluke, on Friday 21st November 2025 for an official visit highlighting the home’s approach to kind care and its strong community spirit.
 
Ms Nash toured the recently enhanced facilities, including the café, browsed the home’s honesty shop, library, ensuite bedrooms, and the home’s well-tended garden spaces. During the visit she had lunch with residents and spoke with colleagues to gain insight into Kirknowe’s personalised approach to nursing and nursing dementia care, along with the varied activities designed to support wellbeing across the 90-bed home.
 
The visit provided an opportunity to recognise the dedication of Kirknowe’s care team, whose professionalism and compassion have made the home an important and trusted part of the local community.
