Residents and colleagues at HC-One’s Woodland View Care Home, in Droitwich, were treated to a magical Sunday afternoon in the home’s very own cinema room inspired by the much-loved classic Mary Poppins.
The fun began when one of the home’s wonderful residents brought along a Mary Poppins-style umbrella, instantly sparking delight and nostalgia. The umbrella soon became the centrepiece of a lively singalong session, where residents and colleagues filled the room with smiles, laughter, and a chorus of familiar songs from the film and beyond.
The atmosphere was described as “truly heartwarming,” as everyone joined together in music and conversation. Many residents reminisced about watching Mary Poppins with their families and shared fond memories of childhood cinema trips, showing just how powerful simple objects and songs can be in unlocking joyful moments.
