Acacia Court Care Home raises funds for Pudsey House and strengthens community tiesResidents and team members from Acacia Court Care Home in Pudsey were out in the local community raising money for Pudsey House, a well-loved community centre run by Pudsey Voluntary Services that provides a welcoming space for activities, classes, social groups and events that bring people together and help foster connection across the local area.

The home hosted a popular chocolate stall which proved to be a great success, attracting strong support from the community and helping to raise valuable funds for the charity. The event also provided a wonderful opportunity to build new relationships and strengthen existing connections within Pudsey.

During the day, the team met local police patrol officers who have since kindly agreed to pop into the home for a coffee when they are passing, something residents are already looking forward to.

The event was also attended by volunteers from the Thomas and Sarah Lund Almshouses. Acacia Court Care Home has pledged its support in helping to raise funds to purchase plants for the almshouses, enhancing the outdoor spaces for elderly residents living there. As part of this commitment, the home will host a tombola stall at its upcoming Easter Fair on 28th March to contribute to this good cause.

Lisa Waterhouse, Wellbeing Coordinator, Joanne Peace, Care Home Manager, and Maria King, Regional Admissions Coordinator attended the community event alongside several residents from the home.

Residents said they had a wonderful time meeting members of the community and are excited to see them again soon.

Lisa Waterhouse, Wellbeing Co-ordinator at Acacia Court Care Home, said:
