HC-One’s Acorn Meadow Care Home in Lostock Gralam, Northwich, is inviting the local community to swap Blue Monday for Brew Monday by coming together for a cup of tea, a chat and some companionship.
On Monday 19 January 2026, from 2.30pm to 4pm, the care home will be taking part in Brew Monday, an initiative led by Samaritans to encourage people to connect, talk and support one another during what can be a challenging time of year.
The team at Acorn Meadow will be putting the kettle on and creating a calm, welcoming space where anyone is welcome to drop in for a warm brew, friendly conversation or simply some company. The event is open to all, with no pressure and no judgement – just a listening ear and a supportive environment.
Brew Monday is about reminding people that they are never alone and that talking really does help. Whether someone is feeling low, overwhelmed, or just in need of a friendly face, Acorn Meadow’s doors will be open to offer comfort and connection.
Lorna Bennett, Home Manager at Acorn Meadow Care Home said:
“January can be a difficult month for many people, which is why we’re proud to support Samaritans by taking part in Brew Monday. We want to remind everyone in our community that they’re always welcome here for a cup of tea, a chat, or simply to sit with others. Looking out for one another can make a real difference.”
By swapping Blue Monday for Brew Monday, Acorn Meadow hopes to encourage open conversations about wellbeing and highlight the importance of human connection, especially during the winter months.
Anyone wishing to attend can simply drop in during the event time – the kettle will be on and the welcome warm.
