Residents of Ailsa Craig Care Home in Cessnock, Glasgow, recently enjoyed a memorable outing to Hampden Stadium and the Scottish Football Museum, bringing cherished football memories to life.
As part of the home’s popular Football Memories activity sessions, the trip offered residents a chance to reminisce about their favourite teams, players, and match-day experiences. For one of the home’s newer residents, Millar Hay, the visit was particularly special. Between 1964 and 1969, Millar made over 150 appearances playing for Queens Park, making the tour a nostalgic journey down memory lane.
The Hampden team provided an engaging tour of the stadium, sharing insights into its rich history while reconnecting Millar with familiar sights. One of the highlights came as Millar walked down the tunnel, waving to the empty stadium and recalling fond memories to the group. The team also located Millar’s name in the stadium’s signing archive, sparking more joyful recollections.
