Residents and colleagues at HC-One’s Ascot Lodge Care Home in Intake, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, were delighted to welcome
Louise Haigh, MP for Sheffield Heeley, on Friday 28th November for a special visit in celebration of UK Parliament Week.
During her visit, Ms Haigh met with residents and colleagues to learn more about daily life at Ascot Lodge and the compassionate, high-quality care provided at the 47-bed home, which offers both residential dementia and nursing dementia care.
Ms Haigh enjoyed a guided tour of the home’s impressive facilities, including its hair salon, quiet room, kitchenette, and a selection of premium and ensuite bedrooms. She also spent time chatting with residents, engaging in meaningful discussions about local issues, national news, and their personal experiences. The MP learned more about the home’s dedication to person-centred care and the broad range of activities that support residents’ wellbeing and independence.
The visit shone a spotlight on Ascot Lodge’s strong community connections and its commitment to creating a warm, inclusive environment where residents feel respected, valued, and heard.
UK Parliament Week is an annual initiative that encourages people across the UK to learn about Parliament, democracy, and how they can help shape the country’s future. Ascot Lodge’s celebration gave residents the chance to connect directly with their local MP and share the topics that matter most to them.
