Ben Lee, Home Manager at Ash Tree House Care Home in Hindley, Wigan, is set to take on a 12-hour darts marathon to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer, supporting their campaign to encourage men to talk openly about cancer.
The event will take place at The Dog and Partridge public house in Hindley on Saturday 7th March, from 12:00pm to 12:00am. Ben will be aiming to complete 12 straight hours of darts, demonstrating endurance, community spirit, and commitment to a vital cause.
Macmillan Cancer’s campaign highlights the importance of men discussing their feelings of fear, depression, or worry related to a cancer diagnosis. Around 250,000 men in the UK are affected each year, and the charity encourages open conversations to ensure men feel supported and not alone.
Ben hopes to raised £150 for the charity, Macmillan Cancer. Donations are being collected both at Ash Tree House and online. Supporters can contribute via Ben’s fundraising page:

Marie Phillips, Front of House Manager at Ash Tree House, said:
"We’re incredibly proud of Ben for taking on this challenge. It’s a fun but important way to raise awareness and funds for Macmillan, and we hope the community will get behind him."
All money raised from the darts marathon will be donated directly to Macmillan Cancer to support men across the UK in talking about cancer and accessing vital support services.
