Residents and their loved ones at Ashbourne Lodge Care Home in Sunderland came together to celebrate Mother’s Day with a special High Tea event, following the popularity of the home’s recent Valentine’s Day gathering.
After families thoroughly enjoyed the Valentine’s Day High Tea, the team at Ashbourne Lodge decided to host another special occasion to mark Mother’s Day, giving residents and relatives another opportunity to spend quality time together.
Six families joined the celebration, with one group attending in the morning and five in the afternoon. In total, sixteen guests gathered with residents to mark the occasion in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Families enjoyed a traditional High Tea featuring sandwiches, cakes, tea and a glass of wine, while sharing stories, laughter and precious moments with their loved ones.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for residents and their families to celebrate Mother’s Day together in a relaxed and sociable setting.
Claire Daley, Wellbeing Coordinator at Ashbourne Lodge Care Home, said:
“It was lovely to see so many families come together to celebrate Mother’s Day with their loved ones. After the success of our Valentine’s Day High Tea, we thought it would be a wonderful idea to do something similar again. Events like this give families the chance to spend meaningful time together, share stories and make special memories.”
The Ashbourne Lodge team regularly organises events and activities to bring residents and their families together, helping to create a strong sense of community within the home.
