Residents at Ashbourne Lodge Care Home in Sunderland got into the festive spirit with a lively St Patrick’s Day celebration, bringing joy, music, and delicious treats to the home.
Twelve residents joined in the festivities, which featured an afternoon of traditional Irish music, sing-alongs, and plenty of laughter. Residents enjoyed sweet treats specially prepared for the occasion and even sampled a slice of Guinness cake, a nod to the classic Irish celebration. The atmosphere was filled with smiles as everyone sang along to their favourite tunes and shared in the cheerful, communal spirit of the day.
Claire Daley, Wellbeing Coordinator at Ashbourne Lodge, said:
"It was fantastic to see our residents enjoying themselves so much. The music got everyone singing and tapping along, and trying the Guinness cake added a little extra fun to the afternoon. Celebrations like these are so important for wellbeing and help bring our community together."
