Autumn Creativity Blooms at Blakelands Lodge Care Home

Residents at HC-One’s Blakelands Lodge Care Home in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire, have been celebrating the changing seasons with a creative arts and crafts session, making their very own autumnal wreaths.

Armed with autumn leaves, pinecones, berries, and ribbons in rich seasonal shades, residents worked alongside the wellbeing team to design beautiful wreaths that now proudly decorate the home. The activity sparked plenty of conversation, with residents sharing memories of family traditions, autumn walks, and harvest celebrations from years gone by.

The session was part of Blakelands Lodge’s varied programme of meaningful activities designed to promote wellbeing, stimulate creativity, and encourage social interaction. Residents commented on how much they enjoyed working with their hands, while others said it brought back fond memories of decorating their homes during autumn.

Blakelands Lodge is preparing for the cooler months ahead with seasonal events such as the Harvest Festival which will bring residents together to celebrate the changing season and enjoy the cosy, welcoming atmosphere of the home.
