Averill House Care Home launches ‘Hearts Across the UK’ Valentine’s initiative to spread kindness toAverill House Care Home in Newton Heath, Manchester, is inviting communities across the country to take part in a heart-warming Valentine’s Day initiative aimed at spreading kindness and connection to care home residents.

Launched this February, Hearts Across the UK encourages people of all ages to send Valentine’s cards and messages of goodwill to residents at Averill House, helping to brighten their day and remind them they are valued and remembered.

The initiative highlights the vital role that connection, compassion and community play in later life. For many residents, receiving a simple card or handwritten message can make a powerful difference – reducing feelings of loneliness, sparking joy and creating meaningful moments of connection.

Commenting on the initiative, Arlette Naylor, Wellbeing Coordinator at Averill House Care Home said:
“Valentine’s Day is all about love and connection, and Hearts Across the UK is a wonderful way for people to show our residents that they are cared for and thought of. Even a few kind words in a card can mean the world and bring a huge smile to someone’s face.”

Averill House Care Home is welcoming cards from individuals, families, schools, community groups and organisations from across the UK.

The care home hopes the initiative will inspire people nationwide to take a moment this Valentine’s Day to share kindness and help strengthen community bonds.

Anyone wishing to support the initiative is encouraged to share the message and help spread the word to reach as many communities as possible.
