This month, HC-One’s Brompton House Care Home in Broadway, Worcestershire, had the pleasure of welcoming not only a new resident, Sue, who joined her husband Brian, but also their beloved furry companion, Daisy May.
During her short stay at the home, Daisy brought immense joy, love, and warmth to both residents and colleagues alike. Daisy May quickly became a cherished member of the home’s community. Her gentle nature and affectionate cuddles provided comfort and happiness to everyone she met. Whether spending her days sitting peacefully with residents or playing joyfully in the garden, Daisy’s presence uplifted spirits across the home.
Each evening, Daisy would go home with the home’s dedicated Activities Coordinator, Ruth Hall, joining her Border Collie, Chace. The pair quickly became fast friends, although it was clear Daisy wore the trousers in the relationship. Their playful antics, especially chasing tennis balls, brought smiles to many faces.
To help find a suitable long term forever home for Daisy May, the care team embarked on a mission to find her a loving and caring new home. Home Manager at HC-One’s Brompton House Care Home, Vlad Nastasa, reached out to a friend and the home’s wonderful local minister, Jane Penny, who owned a dog named Trigger who was the same age as Daisy. A meeting was arranged, and it was love at first sight for the two pups.
Moved by the connection between the dogs, Jane made the heartwarming decision to rehome Daisy herself. Brian and Sue were overjoyed to see their beloved companion settling in so comfortably and couldn’t be happier knowing she is now thriving in her new home, surrounded by love and care.
To keep the bond strong, Jane has kindly agreed to send regular monthly updates, photos and visits, ensuring Brian and Sue can stay connected with their beloved Daisy.
Vlad Nastasa, Home Manager at HC-One’s Brompton House Care Home said:
“It was a true pleasure having Daisy May with us, even for a short time. She brought so much joy and comfort to our residents and colleagues, her presence reminded us all of the powerful bond between people and their pets. While it was difficult to say goodbye, we’re so pleased she has found such a loving new home. I’m incredibly proud of our team for the kindness and support they showed to Sue, Brian, and Daisy throughout this transition. It’s moments like these that highlight the heart of what we do here at Brompton House.”
