HC-One’s Fairway View Care Home, in Bulwell, Nottingham, rolled out the breakfast table for local frontline workers in a heartfelt “Blue Light Breakfast” event.
On Monday, May 19, 2025, the morning was filled with sizzling bacon, sausage, and egg cobs, steaming cups of tea and coffee, and warm conversations that brought the community closer together.
Fairway View organised this special event to say a big “thank you” to the tireless frontline workers who serve the community day in and day out.
Firefighters from Stockhill Fire Station, local police officers, and even pest control professionals joined residents for a delicious breakfast, sharing stories and laughter over the most important meal of the day.
Melanie Hayes, HC-One’s Fairway View Care Home Manager, said:
“We wanted to show our gratitude to our local frontline workers by inviting them to join us for breakfast.
“The residents loved sitting down with the firefighters and police officers for a chat – it was a morning full of joy and connection. Helping Sue tick something off her bucket list was the cherry on top!”
The event was a true celebration of community spirit, with residents and heroes connecting over hearty food and shared appreciation. In a particularly touching moment, resident Sue saw a lifelong dream come true.
Having always wanted a “fireman’s lift”, Sue was thrilled when the Stockhill firefighters happily obliged. “She was over the moon!” Melanie added.
