HC-One’s Colton Lodges Care Home in Colton, Leeds, is spreading festive cheer this year with a heartfelt Christmas toy donation drive to support children spending the holidays at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). The team will also be donating to the elderly wards whilst they are there.
Residents, colleagues, families and the local community are invited to take part in the appeal, which aims to bring smiles, comfort and a little Christmas magic to young patients across the hospital’s children’s wards.
Colton Lodges is collecting new, unwrapped toys for infants through to teenagers, as well as books, colouring books, craft kits, puzzles, games and soft toys. All donations will be delivered directly to LGI the following week.
Danielle Longthorn, Home Manager at HC-One’s Colton Lodges Care Home, said:
“We know how difficult it can be for children and their families to be in hospital at Christmas. By coming together as a community, we hope to brighten their day and help make the festive season a little more joyful.”
The care home is asking anyone who would like to contribute to drop off their donations at the home’s office by Friday 12th December. After the collection closes, colleagues from Colton Lodges will personally deliver the gifts to the hospital.
Colton Lodges Care Home is proud to be part of this seasonal act of kindness and is eager to gather as many donations as possible to support children in need during the festive period.
