A very special celebration recently took place at Hepworth House Care Home in Stanley, Wakefield, as residents, staff, friends and family came together to mark a remarkable milestone, the 100th birthday of much-loved resident Kathleen Strangward.
Kathleen celebrated her incredible birthday on 8 March, enjoying a wonderful day surrounded by those who care for her and the people closest to her. Reaching 100 years old is a truly extraordinary achievement, and the occasion was marked with a joyful celebration at the home in Stanley.
The dedicated team at Hepworth House worked hard to ensure Kathleen’s day was truly memorable, creating a warm and happy atmosphere for everyone involved. Residents, staff, friends and family gathered to celebrate Kathleen’s life and share in the special moment together.
The wider community also played a huge part in the celebrations following an appeal for birthday cards ahead of the big day. Kathleen received an incredible 134 birthday cards, which she thoroughly enjoyed opening throughout the day. Each card brought kind wishes and smiles, and Kathleen was touched by the kindness shown by so many people.
The celebration also featured beautiful singing from local performer Karen Clegg, whose performance added to the joyful atmosphere and was enjoyed by everyone who attended.
