Residents and team members at HC-One’s Crofton Springs Care Home in Cheltenham were delighted to see one of their residents, Charlotte Pumfrey, take a heartfelt trip down memory lane with a special visit to Bristol Street Motors Cheltenham Ford Service Centre, the place where she proudly worked for 28 years.
Charlotte was accompanied by Deputy Manager Shannon Eldridge and Wellbeing Coordinator Nicola Hardy, who drove her to the dealership to revisit the workplace that held so many cherished memories. The visit was arranged by Home Manager Elaine Andrews, who wanted to help Charlotte reconnect with a significant part of her life.
During her time at Bristol Street Motors, Charlotte worked as an administrator, managing payments and calculating commissions for the sales team, a role she fondly recalls with pride.
As Charlotte walked around the site, she reminisced about the cars and her time there. She smiled as she spotted the yellow Capri, noting that it looked “much larger than she remembered,” and shared a story about the white Capri she once had “on the floor” during her working days.
Deputy Manager Shannon Eldridge said:
“It was heart-warming to see Charlotte talk about the cars and show us where her old office used to be, although she did laugh and say her office was much bigger back then! She smiled the whole time, laughing with the sales team. It was lovely to be a part of that moment with her.”
The sales team at Bristol Street Motors warmly welcomed Charlotte back, sharing laughter and memories together. One salesperson joked,
“Well, if I get a white Capri, I know who to call!”
Charlotte returned to Crofton Springs with a big smile and a heart full of nostalgia after what was a truly special day for everyone involved.
