Residents at HC-One’s The Denby Care Home in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, were all shook up as The King of Rock ’n’ Roll appeared to celebrate his birthday in true Elvis style.
Residents, family members and colleagues were treated to an incredible live performance by an Elvis tribute act, who brought energy, nostalgia and plenty of sparkle to the care home. Anticipation filled the room before Elvis even took to the stage, and from his very first song to his final encore, there was a real buzz of excitement and joy.
The performance quickly had residents singing along, clapping and dancing, with Elvis favourites echoing around the home long after the show had finished. Many residents continued humming and singing his songs well into the evening, carrying the magic of the night with them.
Penny Duncan, Wellbeing Coordinator at The Denby Care Home, said:
“This was such an amazing night for everyone. There was a real sense of excitement before Elvis came on stage, and it never disappeared. Residents were singing along, dancing away and talking about it all night and again this morning. It’s moments like these that create lasting memories.”
