Excellence in care: Three HC-One colleagues and two homes shortlisted for National Care Awards 2025

HC-One is proud to celebrate the achievements of three colleagues and two care homes who have been shortlisted as finalists at the prestigious National Care Awards 2025, taking place on November 7, 2025, at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London.

The National Care Awards are set to return for their 27th year, organised by Caring Times Magazine, the UK’s leading social care publication. Recognised as one of the most prestigious events in the sector, the awards shine a spotlight on excellence across the industry, celebrating the individuals who go above and beyond to deliver consistently outstanding care.

This year’s five finalists have been carefully selected in recognition of their exceptional dedication, compassion, and commitment to the people they support. These shortlists shine a spotlight on the incredible dedication made across HC-One homes, reflecting the organisation’s purpose of helping people live their best life with kindness at the heart of care.

Each finalist has demonstrated not only a tireless work ethic but also the empathy and passion that make a real difference to residents, relatives, and colleagues alike. Their achievements highlight the very best of social care and the positive impact that dedicated professionals have on communities every single day.
HC-One's finalists for the National Care Awards 2025 are:

  • Jasmin Desingco, Deputy Manager at Primrose House Care Home, finalist in the Dementia Care Manager of the Year Award category
Jasmin shortlisting as a finalist is in recognition of more than 20 years of outstanding dementia nursing, mentoring colleagues, and leading innovative wellbeing initiatives.
  • Primrose House Care Home, finalists in the Training and Development of the Year Award category

Primrose House has been recognised for its pioneering dementia training programme delivered to all 62 colleagues. Over the past year, three senior team members – Jasmin Desingco (Deputy Manager), Chloe Taylor (Nursing Assistant), and David “Craig” Joinson (Nursing Assistant) – have completed Tier 2 Dementia Coach Training.
This has enabled them to deliver a comprehensive six-part dementia training module to all 62 colleagues, fostering a culture of compassionate, informed, and person-centred care.

  • Strathtay House Care Home, finalists in the Care Home of the Year Award category
HC-One’s Scotland Strathtay House Care Home, in Perth, has been shortlisted following its “Very Good” rating across all key areas by the Care Inspectorate in June 2025.
  • Danielle Smith, Home Administrator at Magna Care Home, finalist in the Sara Berrio Care Champion Award category

Danielle has been shortlisted as she goes far beyond her administrative role. From organising community events to uplifting colleagues, she supports residents and families with warmth and positivity.

  • Karen Griffiths, Head Housekeeper at Harley Grange Care Home, finalist in the Care Housekeeper of the Year Award category

With over 10 years of service, Karen leads by example, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and homely environment. She helps residents settle in, supports families during difficult times, and motivates her team with initiatives such as the “Room of the Month” award.
These five finalists highlight the dedication, creativity, and compassion that HC-One colleagues and homes bring to their communities every day.

James Tugendhat, HC-One’s Chief Executive Officer, said:
“Having three HC-One colleagues and two care homes shortlisted for the National Care Awards is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the exceptional care they provide every day. This recognition is a fantastic achievement, and I could not be prouder of our finalists.
“Being shortlisted for such prestigious awards is a true reflection of the passion, dedication, and kindness our colleagues show every day. They go above and beyond to provide the very best care for residents and their families, and this recognition highlights the important role they play as we continue working to be the first-choice care provider in every community we serve.”
