Festive cheer as Mossdale Residence hosts Christmas Fayre for local communityResidents, relatives and members of the local community came together at HC-One’s Mossdale Residence in Burnholme, York, on Tuesday 16 December to enjoy a festive Christmas Fayre filled with seasonal treats, crafts and community spirit.

The Christmas Fayre was incorporated into Mossdale’s weekly coffee morning and saw a great turnout, with guests enjoying stalls from local organisations and supporters including Age UK, Pamela’s Cake Stall and Donna’s Craft Stall. One of Mossdale’s relatives, Chiarina, also kindly baked homemade gingerbread biscuits, which were sold at the event to raise funds.

A festive raffle is currently running at the home and will be drawn on Christmas Eve, adding to the excitement of the celebrations.

Mossdale Residence’s team ensured everyone was well catered for, providing a selection of cakes and mince pies alongside mulled wine, tea and coffee refreshments. The event was organised and supported by Wellbeing Coordinators Pauline Hagan and Julie Infield, with Bev Ward attending on behalf of Age UK.

Bev Ward, Age UK representative, said:
“What a lovely day it has been, thank you for having us. It has been so lovely to see new and old faces who we have supported previously in the community.”

Julie Banks, Home Manager at HC-One’s Mossdale Residence said:
“It was wonderful to see our residents, relatives and members of the local community come together to celebrate the festive season. Events like our Christmas Fayre are so important in bringing people together, strengthening our community connections and creating special moments for our residents. I would like to thank everyone who supported the day and helped make it such a success.”

The festive fayre highlighted Mossdale Residence’s strong links with the local community and its commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive events that bring people together, particularly at such a special time of year.
