Residents from Foley Grange Care Home Enjoy Special Visit to Kidderminster Town HallResidents from HC-One’s Foley Grange Care Home in Kidderminster were treated to a memorable day out after being warmly welcomed for a guided visit to the town’s historic Town Hall.

The visit came about after colleagues at Foley Grange contacted Kidderminster Town Hall to ask whether residents could enjoy a tour of the building. The Town Hall team were delighted to accommodate the request, going above and beyond by arranging not only a tour but also a fascinating talk from local historian Mike, who generously volunteered his time to share stories about the history of the Town Hall and Kidderminster itself.

The Town Hall has recently undergone extensive renovations and now features the newly opened Courtyard Café. Residents and colleagues enjoyed lunch together in the café, making the visit a truly social and relaxing experience.

Importantly, residents living with dementia were also able to attend the trip, with the Town Hall staff praised for their kindness, patience and understanding throughout the visit. Many of the residents who attended are lifelong locals of Kidderminster, making the experience especially meaningful and close to their hearts.

Following the success of the visit, Foley Grange Care Home has invited historian Mike to visit the home to deliver another history talk for residents, an invitation he has been happy to accept.

Beth Phillips, Front of House Manager at HC-One’s Foley Grange Care Home, said:

“Our visit to Kidderminster Town Hall was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The team made us feel so welcome and were incredibly accommodating, especially towards our residents living with dementia.

“For many of our residents, visiting the Town Hall brought back fond memories of their younger years, and Mike’s history talk really captured everyone’s attention. We cannot thank the Town Hall staff enough for making the day so special.”

HC-One is committed to helping residents stay connected to their local communities and continue enjoying meaningful experiences that celebrate their personal histories and interests.
