Generations Come Together for Art and Song at Coppice Court Care Home

Residents at HC-One’s Coppice Court Care Home in Eastbourne, East Sussex, were delighted to welcome children 2 and 3 years old from their local nursery, step by step, for a joyful afternoon of creativity, music, and laughter.

The young visitors, who affectionately call the residents their “nannies and grandads,” joined in a special arts and crafts session, where they painted together and created colourful artwork. The room was filled with bright splashes of colour and even brighter smiles as the different generations enjoyed spending time together.

To round off the visit, the children sang a selection of songs for everyone to enjoy, leading to a heart-warming sing-along with residents and colleagues alike.

One resident shared, “It’s lovely to see the different generations come together. Being around the children and hearing them sing reminds me of my own children when they were younger.” Another added, “It’s lovely to see all their faces light up, they’re really cute and full of energy.”

The nursery children also expressed how much they love visiting their “nannies and grandads,” bringing joy and laughter wherever they go.

Home Manager at HC-One’s Coppice Court Care Home, Elga Ekonomi, said:

“It was such a special day for everyone. These intergenerational visits mean so much to our residents, they lift spirits, spark memories, and fill our home with happiness.”

The afternoon was a true celebration of community spirit, showing the wonderful bond between the young and the young at heart.
