HC-One’s Brinnington Hall Care Home in Stockport, Manchester, is delighted to announce the launch of Songs & Smiles, a new intergenerational music, movement, and friendship group designed to bring together local children, their families, and care home residents.
The weekly sessions invite 0-4 year olds and their grown-ups to join care home residents for a joyful morning of singing, dancing, and making connections across generations. The first sessions will be held every Thursday morning from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Brinnington Hall Care Home.
Songs & Smiles offers numerous benefits for residents, including improved mood, increased social engagement, and opportunities to form meaningful relationships with younger generations. Intergenerational interactions like these have been shown to boost cognitive stimulation, reduce feelings of isolation, and create joyful shared experiences for both children and older adults.
The sessions are free to attend, with the option to donate what you can. All parents, carers, grandparents, and childminders are welcome, and spaces are limited. Interested participants are encouraged to book in advance via:
