HC-One’s Woodland View Care Home in Droitwich, Worcestershire, recently celebrated an extraordinary milestone for their remarkable resident, Eric Davies, with a once-in-a-lifetime flight experience to mark his 100th birthday.
Back on the 19
th July, Eric reached the incredible milestone of 100 years, and he recently finally received his long-awaited birthday gift: a flight experience that will be remembered forever. Accompanied by his daughter, the pilot, and a carer who had never flown before, Eric soared to an impressive 2,900 feet from Halfpenny Green Wolverhampton airport, taking the controls for most of the journey himself.
The weather was perfect, the views were breathtaking, and Eric’s joy was palpable. From rolling hills to the sweeping countryside, every moment of the flight brought smiles and wonder.
The Woodland View team described the celebration as a fitting tribute to a remarkable man whose life has been full of adventure, kindness, and resilience. The flight was more than just a gift; it was a symbol of a century well-lived and the joy of creating memories that last a lifetime.
