Resident Emma Carson, who lives at HC-One Scotland’s Hatton Lea Care Home in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, recently had a heartfelt wish come true with a special visit to the Scottish SPCA Centre in Hamilton.
A lifelong animal lover, Emma was eager to give something back to the animals she cares so deeply about. With the support of her fellow residents and colleagues at Hatton Lea, Emma spent the summer collecting blankets, towels, toys, food, and treats for the cats and dogs at the centre.
Emma proudly visited the Scottish SPCA to donate her collection in person. To recognise her thoughtfulness and generosity, staff at the centre presented her with a special badge celebrating her kindness and community spirit.
The visit was made even more memorable when Emma met Sage, a rescue dog who has now found a loving forever home. Showing her adventurous side, she also held Colin the corn snake, an experience she described as “a moment she won’t soon forget.”
Reflecting on the day, Emma shared that the visit reminded her of the many pets she has loved and cared for over the years.
The team at Hatton Lea were delighted to help make Emma’s wish a reality, showing once again how HC-One Scotland’s commitment to ‘Caring with Kindness’ continues to enrich the lives of residents and connect them with their local communities.
