HC-One’s Hodge Hill Grange Care Home in Birmingham is delighted to announce the launch of its new weekly ‘Knit & Natter’ group, taking place every Thursday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. The sessions are open to members of the local community who enjoy knitting, crochet, needlecrafts or simply good company and conversation.
The initiative has been created to encourage social interaction, reduce loneliness, and strengthen ties between the care home and the wider Hodge Hill Grange community. Residents and colleagues at Hodge Hill Grange are excited to welcome local people into the home for an afternoon of creativity, chatter, and tea.
The group is designed to be inclusive and informal. Attendees are invited to bring along their own knitting or craft projects, but materials can also be provided for those who are new to knitting or would like to try something different. Whether people want to develop new skills, share crafting tips, or enjoy a warm and friendly environment, everyone is welcome.
Karen Mayo, Home Manager at Hodge Hill Grange, said:
“We know how powerful community connections can be in bringing joy and companionship. Our Knit & Natter group is a lovely opportunity for our residents to meet new people while doing something they love. We’re inviting knitters of all ages and abilities to join us, even if you’ve never knitted before but fancy a chat, you’ll fit right in. We can’t wait to see new faces and build lasting friendships.”
The team hopes that, as the group grows, members may choose to work together on community knitting projects, such as blankets for charities or knitted decorations for the home.
Anyone interested in joining the weekly sessions is encouraged to contact Hodge Hill Grange Care Home and ask for Sarah for further details.
