Houghton Regis care home hosts groovy silent disco for residents

HC-One’s Thorn Springs Care Home, in Houghton Regis, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, transformed into a lively silent disco event that turned the lounge into a vibrant dance floor on Thursday, May 22.

Knowing how much residents love their music, the Thorns Springs team organised this unique event to offer a fresh and fun way to enjoy their favourite tunes.

The evening was filled with laughter and songs as residents danced and sang along to a nostalgic playlist featuring 1950s and 1960s hits, with a surprise switch to dance music that sparked hilarious reactions.

Katie Hughes, HC-One’s Thorn Springs Care Home Manager, said:

“The silent disco was a huge hit with our residents. We wanted to introduce something new, and they loved it. It’s great to use technology in such a creative way.”

Resident Stella Rose couldn’t stop smiling, saying:

“It was brilliant, we had such a laugh. I nearly lost my voice from all the singing and laughing. We would love to do it again!”
