Ashgrove Care Home, run by HC-One and located in Hounslow, welcomed visitors and guests from the local community to participate in this year’s Care Home Open Week celebrations from Monday 16th June to Sunday 22nd June 2025.
The home’s main celebration events took place during Care Home Open Weekend, between Friday 20th and Sunday 22nd June. Ashgrove Care Home welcomed residents, colleagues, friends, family and members of the wider community to a vibrant summer garden party filled with fun, laughter and community spirit.
Care Home Open Week is a national event hosted by Championing Social Care, designed to connect care homes with their local communities. It provides care homes with the opportunity to showcase their services, give tours of their facilities, and highlight the activities they offer to residents. The week also reminds neighbours that the home is a welcoming and supportive part of the local community.
HC-One’s theme for 2025 was ‘The Big Summer Weekender,’ celebrating the nostalgic feel of British summer holidays with fun-filled activities and an end-of-week celebration.
Ashgrove Care Home was delighted to welcome The Worshipful The Mayor of the London Borough of Hounslow for 2025-26, Councillor Amy Croft, on Monday 16th June 2025, as part of the week's opening celebrations. The Worshipful the Mayor spent time with residents, families, and colleagues, learning about life at the home and joining in the joyful atmosphere.
Throughout the week, residents and visitors enjoyed a range of nostalgic, summer-themed activities that brought joy and connection to all who attended. The home was adorned with bright, colourful decorations reminiscent of British seaside holidays, setting the scene for a fun and heartwarming series of events.
Ashgrove Care Home hosted a joyful summer garden festival complete with picnics, music, games, and even a touch of the seaside brought to the home’s garden. Visitors also had the opportunity to learn more about the rewarding careers in care and the many ways to volunteer or engage with the home.
