This October, HC-One’s Kings Court Care Home in Newark will host a special Open Day in support of World Mental Health Day. The event aims to raise awareness of the impact of loneliness and provide a warm, inclusive space where members of the local community can come together, connect, and enjoy uplifting activities.
Across the UK, millions of older adults are affected by loneliness, with research showing that loneliness has increased by 43% since 2016. Kings Court are committed to changing this by creating a welcoming, supportive community where no one has to feel alone.
Taking place on Friday 10th October, from 11am to 4pm, the day will feature:
- Opportunities to socialise and make new friends
- A range of engaging activities designed to support brain health and wellbeing
- Light refreshments in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere
- The chance to explore our home and learn more about upcoming events at Kings Court
In addition, Stephen Roden, Senior Sales Executive from Hearing Products International Ltd, will be on hand to showcase products designed to support those who are hard of hearing. His range includes personal listeners that attach to clothing or plug into devices, helping people stay connected and engaged. Stephen, who is passionate about reducing the isolation caused by hearing loss, will have products available to purchase for both residents and guests on the day.
