Love is in the air at Leighton Court Care Home in Wallasey, Wirral, Merseyside this Valentine’s Day, where residents are celebrating the special people and passions that make life meaningful. From family bonds to lifelong hobbies, residents are sharing what brings joy to their hearts every day.
Lol Fletcher, who has lived at Leighton Court for just over a year, is a proud father and grandfather. He recently spent a wonderful weekend with his daughter, Zoe, and her family, including his two grandchildren. But there’s someone else who holds a special place in his heart – Leighton Court’s wellbeing coordinator, Sophie Teasdale. “She’s always so kind, supportive, and makes sure we’re all happy,” Lol says. “She’s my third love!”
Jen Kilbride, a resident of almost a year, cherishes her big, supportive family and the time spent outdoors. Whether enjoying walks with her loved ones or trips on the home’s minibus with wellbeing coordinators, Jen is embracing every opportunity to connect with the world around her. A lifelong music fan, she especially enjoys classic R&B and dance tunes, which keep her spirits high.
Kath Murray, who has been part of the Leighton Court family for a couple of years, brings a sparkle wherever she goes. A former showgirl, Kath loves jewellery, vintage clothing, and handbags – and she entertains fellow residents daily with her piano playing and singing, sharing her love of performance and joy for life.
Frank Orr, another long-standing resident, cherishes his family above all. Although his wife is no longer with him, she will always be “top of the list.” Frank enjoys visits from his children, grandchildren, and even his beloved dog, Maddy the Baddie, celebrating the enduring bonds that make life at Leighton Court so special.
This Valentine’s Day, Leighton Court is reminding everyone that love comes in many forms, through family, friendship, care, and the simple pleasures that make each day brighter.
