Sweet moments and savoury smiles: Lewisham care home celebrates National Biscuit DayResidents, colleagues, and relatives at HC-One’s Alexander Care Home in Lewisham, London, came together in the sweetest way possible to mark National Biscuit Day (May 29th), with an afternoon full of laughter, music and biscuits!

Bringing together biscuit lovers from across the home, the event invited residents to take part in a light-hearted biscuit tasting challenge, where they were encouraged to guess the biscuit they were sampling. From crunchy classics to chocolate-covered favourites, the variety sparked smiles and conversation among old friends and new.

As the comforting sound of music played in the background, residents enjoyed relaxing in one another’s company while discussing their favourite types of biscuits.

Simon Peter, Wellbeing Coordinator at HC-One’s Alexander Care Home, led a fun and informative discussion on the nation’s favourite biscuits—highlighting everything from the diabetic-friendly Rich Tea and Cream Crackers to the more indulgent chocolate and cream-filled varieties.

Simon Peter, Wellbeing Coordinator at HC-One’s Alexander Care Home said:

“There’s a biscuit for everyone. That’s what made this celebration so special—seeing the joy that something as simple as a biscuit can bring to so many.

“The event wasn’t just about sweet treats—it was a meaningful opportunity for connection, nostalgia, and shared joy among residents, colleagues, and relatives.

“At Alexander Care Home, every day is about making moments count, and this National Biscuit Day was no exception.’’
