HC-One’s Alexander Care Home in Lewisham, London, is tuning up for an unforgettable World Music Day on Saturday, June 21, 2025, by transforming the home into a vibrant hub of rhythm, melody, and connection.
The day promises to ignite the spirits of residents and colleagues, as they dive into the universal language of music with live performances, toe-tapping dances, and heartfelt sing-alongs – all to celebrate the magic music weaves into their lives.
Alexander Care Home welcomed in a special guest in the form of a musical specialist, singer and keyboard player, Eleanor from the Music Specialists Team. Eleanor visited the home with her keyboard to showcase her amazing musical talents by performing a rendition of songs and putting a smile of everyone’s faces.
Residents, eagerly waiting, were swept away by a cascade of beloved hits, including funk’s groovy beats, jazz’s soulful swing, rock’s electric edge, and the timeless charm of classical and folk.
Eleanor then took the time to meet and have a chat with each of the residents at Alexander Care Home and residents were encouraged to join in by singing and dancing along to the tunes Elenor player which included all kinds of music such as funk, jazz, rock, classical, folk, techno, blues and much more, promoting gentle exercise and movements.
Anthony Warner, HC-One’s Alexander Care Home Manager, said:
“Residents really enjoyed celebrating World Music Day, by listening to tunes, dancing along to their favourite songs and even singing along.
“Music provides a number of positive benefits to our residents including reminiscing opportunities, improves moods, and boosts creativity, socialisation and mental stimulation.”
