Residents at HC-One’s Guide Lane Care Home in Audenshaw were treated to a very special visit recently, thanks to Care Assistant Josh Hauge and his adorable duckling, Lucky.
Josh brought Lucky into the home to meet residents, creating a heartwarming and memorable experience for everyone involved. Residents were delighted to spend time with the fluffy visitor, enjoying gentle cuddles, smiles and plenty of laughter throughout the day.
Animal visits are a wonderful way to spark conversation, lift spirits and encourage social interaction, and Lucky certainly did just that. Residents spoke fondly about past pets and countryside memories, while staff looked on as the duckling quickly became the star of the day.
Care Assistant Josh Hauge said:
“I could see straight away how happy Lucky made everyone. The residents absolutely loved meeting her and it was lovely to watch their faces light up. Bringing a bit of joy into their day really means a lot to me.”
Charlotte Heathcote, Home Manager at Guide Lane Care Home added:
“Moments like this really show the caring, family-style atmosphere we have here at Guide Lane. Josh’s thoughtful gesture brought so much happiness to our residents, and it’s wonderful to see how small, meaningful experiences can make such a big difference to their day.”
The team at Guide Lane Care Home is always looking for meaningful ways to enrich residents’ lives, and this unexpected visit proved to be a simple but joyful moment that brought everyone together.
Guide Lane Care Home would like to thank Josh for sharing Lucky with residents and creating such a special experience that will be remembered for a long time to come.
