Marie Goldman MP Visits Admirals Reach Care Home for Festivities, Christmas Jumper Day and Community

Residents and colleagues at HC-One’s Admirals Reach Care Home in Chelmsford, Essex, were delighted to welcome Marie Goldman, MP for Chelmsford, for a special visit to the home’s Christmas Jumper Day and festive celebrations on Thursday 11th December.

Upon arrival at Reception, Marie Goldman MP was greeted by Senior Wellbeing Coordinator Maxine Gower, who directed her to Deputy Manager Michael Sibanda. Their initial discussions focused on the home’s ongoing refurbishment projects, including the anticipated opening of Admirals Reach’s fifth community, Drake, which is scheduled for the New Year.

The visit provided Marie Goldman MP with the opportunity to tour Admirals Reach’s warm and modern facilities, including the ambient dining areas and social lounges, the bright and airy garden room, and the cosy and comfortable quiet spaces. She also visited two of the home’s communities: Mountbatten, a residential community, and Benbow, a dementia and nursing community.

In Mountbatten, Marie Goldman MP was warmly welcomed by residents Joyce Dorling, Irene Black, Norma Naismith and Maureen Gibson. Conversations ranged from knitting to a recent trip to Scotland, to Mountain Rescue Dogs, highlighting the meaningful and personal interactions that enrich day-to-day life at Admirals Reach.

From there, she was welcomed to the Benbow community, where she met Sister and Charge Nurse Annie Kurian, who has devoted 20 years of service to the home. Their meeting further underscored the high standard of care delivered at Admirals Reach and the team’s dedication to supporting residents with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Throughout her time at Admirals Reach, Marie Goldman MP enjoyed engaging with residents and colleagues, gaining first-hand insight into their experiences, the home’s involvement in the local community, and the person-centred support delivered by the team. Her visit highlighted Admirals Reach’s ongoing commitment to fostering meaningful community connections and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive environment for everyone who lives and works there.

Michael Sibanda, Deputy Home Manager at Admirals Reach Care Home, said:
