Masquerade Ball Strikes a High Note at The DenbyResidents and relatives enjoyed a night of music, masks and memorable moments at a spectacular Masquerade Ball hosted by The Denby Care Home in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

The care home was transformed for the special evening, with residents helping to decorate and prepare for the celebration. The highlight of the night was the debut performance of “Saxy George”, who wowed the audience with a lively saxophone set – even putting a unique twist on ABBA classics.

“Who knew ABBA could be played on a saxophone?” laughed one resident, as guests took to the floor to dance and sing along.

The masquerade-themed event was described as “a party to remember”, with residents praising the music and the effort that had gone into making the evening so special. Masks, decorations and a vibrant atmosphere set the scene for a joyful celebration that continued into an enthusiastic after-party.

Penny Duncan, Wellbeing Coordinator at The Denby, said: “What a night. Residents helped with the decorating and, as usual, it was a fantastic evening with fabulous support. Our relatives and loved ones were, as always, a huge support.

“Events like this really do make a huge difference to our residents’ wellbeing in so many ways. Seeing everyone come together, enjoying the music and each other’s company, is what it’s all about.”

The Denby regularly hosts themed events and entertainment to promote social interaction, creativity and joy among residents, with staff committed to creating meaningful experiences that support wellbeing.

Thanks were extended to “Team Denby” for their continued support in organising events that bring fun, laughter and lasting memories to residents and their families.
