Melbury Court Care Home, located on Old Dryburn Way in County Durham, is opening its doors to the local community for its new weekly coffee morning.
Every Wednesday from 10.30am to 11.30am, residents, families, and neighbours are invited to come together over a warm drink, friendly conversation, and plenty of smiles.
The initiative aims to help people make new friends, enjoy great company, and strengthen community connections.
Team members at Melbury Court say they are excited to offer a relaxed, welcoming space where everyone can feel at home.
Amanda Sargeant, Wellbeing Coordinator at Melbury Court, said:
“We want our community to feel included and part of life here at Melbury Court. These coffee mornings are a lovely way for people to meet, chat, and enjoy time together.”
Nicola Durham, Home Manager, along with Wellbeing Coordinators Sofia Foke and Amanda Sergent, added:
“Our weekly coffee mornings are something we’re really proud of here at Melbury Court. They’re a chance for our residents and the wider community to come together, share a chat, and enjoy a relaxed hour in good company. We’d love to welcome even more local people through our doors, everyone is invited, and there’s always a friendly face waiting for you.”
Melbury Court Care Home hopes the weekly gatherings will encourage social interaction and support wellbeing for both residents and local visitors.
Melbury Court Care Home is currently offering an introductory offer for new residents, with four weeks of care for the price of three, providing families with an opportunity to experience the high-quality, person-centred care on offer at the home.
