Mossdale Residence Care Home in Burnholme, York, was delighted to welcome back the Alzheimer's Society for its monthly carers support coffee morning, bringing together families, carers and members of the local community for a warm and informative gathering.
The session was led by Jo Lamb, Alzheimer’s Society Lead in York, who attended with a wealth of information, guidance and practical advice to support carers and families affected by dementia. Guests had the opportunity to ask questions, access resources and connect with others in similar situations.
Attendees enjoyed a selection of teas, coffees and juices, alongside a spread of homemade cakes freshly prepared by Mossdale Residence’s kitchen team. Ginger cake and caramel and apple cake proved especially popular, with guests describing the morning as both welcoming and uplifting.
The event was supported by Pauline Hagan, Wellbeing Coordinator at Mossdale Residence, and Danielle Smith, Regional Admissions Coordinator, who helped ensure the morning ran smoothly and provided a relaxed, friendly environment for everyone attending.
Jo Lamb thanked Mossdale for its continued support in raising awareness and supporting carers within the community. The home and Alzheimer’s Society are already in discussions about additional events and opportunities to work together in the future.

Mossdale’s Alzheimer’s Society Carers Support Coffee Mornings are now held on the last Friday of every month, and all are welcome to attend.
