Rivendell View Care Home in Stoke Bardolph, Nottingham, part of HC-One, is celebrating the inspirational journey of its Home Manager, Cara Stockill, who has grown with the home since its opening in May 2021.
Cara began her career in care over 15 years ago, starting as a Care Assistant before progressing to become a Senior Care Assistant at Rivendell View Care Home. Over the years, she has worked with four different care providers, gaining valuable skills and experience along the way. Since joining Rivendell View on its very first day as a Senior Care Assistant, Cara has flourished in the supportive, welcoming environment, benefitting from career development opportunities, strong teamwork, and the joy of caring for residents in the home’s purpose-built setting.
Having stepped into the role of Home Manager in recent months, Cara reflects on her journey with pride:
“Being the manager at Rivendell View over the last six months has been an absolute pleasure. Working closely with our residents and supporting them on their journey into care is very rewarding. Seeing residents go from lacking confidence to regaining it, and smiling again, is what we all come to work to see.
“I’ve also enjoyed supporting my colleagues to grow in their own roles, including my deputy manager Elizabeth, who stepped into my shoes as I moved up into this position. I am proud of the journey I’ve been on and look forward to the years ahead. The highlight so far has definitely been growing the resident numbers since I became Home Manager.”
Cara’s story is one of resilience, drive, and motivation, overcoming challenges along the way to achieve her ambition. She is now looking forward to developing her role further and exploring wider opportunities within HC-One.
