
Residents and colleagues at HC-One’s Perry Locks Care Home in Perry Barr, Birmingham, were thrilled to celebrate the 98th birthday of one of their most treasured residents, Edna Cobley, with a joyful day full of love, memories, and celebration.
Edna, who turned 98 on the 7
th June, was all smiles as she received a beautiful teddy bear, which she cuddled throughout the day, and a specially made birthday cake that she absolutely adored. The celebration was a reflection of the affection and admiration Edna inspires among everyone at Perry Locks.
A former ballerina and proud member of the Birmingham Operatic Society, Edna has spent her life bringing joy to audiences across the city. She performed on stage at prestigious venues including the Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and the Alexandra Theatre. Her impressive repertoire includes childhood performances in “Babes in the Wood” at age 10, and later roles in beloved productions such as “Aladdin” and “Cinderella.”
Despite her age, Edna continues to captivate those around her with spontaneous displays of dance, delighting fellow residents and care staff with her graceful movements and lively spirit. Her passion for performance lives on, making her an enduring source of inspiration within the home.
