On 17
th February as part of Random Acts of Kindness Day, Highgate Care Home are celebrating the small, thoughtful gestures that make a big difference across their local community.
From residents supporting one another, to colleagues going the extra mile for their teams and volunteers, kindness continues to be at the heart of everything the home does. These moments, though simple, help create warm, connected communities where everyone feels valued.
At Highgate Care Home in Glasgow, Home Manager Laura Turnbull marked the day by surprising volunteer minibus driver George with a birthday card and chocolates ahead of his 69th birthday. George Smith, who generously gives his time to help residents get out and about, was touched by the thoughtful gesture and thanked the team for their kindness and support.
Laura Turnbull, Home Manager at Highgate Care Home said:
“George does so much for our residents and always brings a smile with him. It was lovely to recognise his birthday and say thank you for everything he does.”
Acts of kindness like these are a reminder that compassion, appreciation and human connection are at the heart of great care.
Highgate is also welcoming new residents with an introductory offer of four weeks of care for the price of three, designed to help families experience the high-quality care, facilities, and community atmosphere the home provides.
