Residents at The Denby Care Home Celebrate “Art for the Heart” with Castle Hill CollageResidents at The Denby Care Home in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, have been getting creative as part of an “Art for the Heart” celebration, coming together to produce a stunning collage inspired by the much-loved local landmark, Castle Hill.
The art session saw residents dipping in and out throughout the day, with everyone encouraged to take part at their own pace. The relaxed, welcoming atmosphere meant laughter, conversation and creativity flowed freely, resulting in a piece of artwork that residents were immensely proud of.
 
The finished collage quickly became a talking point within the home, with residents and visitors alike commenting on how beautiful it was. Many residents were delighted by what they had achieved together, describing a real sense of teamwork and shared achievement.
 
The activity showcased The Denby’s thriving art club at its very best, highlighting how creative projects can support wellbeing, confidence and social connection.
 
Penny Duncan, Wellbeing Coordinator at The Denby, said:
“What we created together was nothing short of beautiful. Everyone pulled together and there was such a lovely vibe throughout the day. Seeing how proud the residents were of the finished piece was really special.”
