HC-One’s Lime Trees Care Home, in Shrewsbury, has brought joy to one of its cherished residents, Rose-Marie McBride, after fulfilling her wish to attend a performance by the Opera Boys.
The event marked a significant milestone for Rose-Marie, who had often felt overwhelmed by anxiety and hesitant to participate in activities since joining the care home in February 2023. Rose-Marie, a music lover who fondly recalls dancing with her late husband Ron at the Plaza, enthusiastically agreed to attend the theatre event.
On the evening of May 8, Rose-Marie was all smiles, clapping along to the music and beaming with joy, especially when children joined the Opera Boys on stage – a highlight that left her glowing. Her family was equally overjoyed as Rose-Marie’s daughter, who visited from Ireland, thanked Lime Trees colleagues for “everything they do”.
Rose-Marie McBride, HC-One’s Lime Trees resident, stated:
“I had a lovely time, and it was nice when the children went on stage. Thank you.”
Karen Williams, HC-One’s Lime Trees Care Home Manager, expressed her delight:
“It was truly special to see Rose-Marie looking forward to something instead of feeling overwhelmed. Her confidence grew, and her beautiful smile said it all.
“The best part for her was seeing the children sing on stage with the Opera Boys. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do – helping our residents enjoy life to the fullest.”
Rose-Marie’s son-in-law, Steve, added:
“We’re amazed – this is down to you and the care the home provides. We really appreciate the work you do.”
