St Nathaniel’s Academy Pupils Bring Festive Joy to Residents at Brindley Court Care HomeResidents at HC-One’s Brindley Court Care Home in Stoke-on-Trent were delighted to welcome children from St Nathaniel’s Academy for a special festive activity session making Christmas cards together.

The lively group of pupils spent the afternoon designing and decorating handmade cards alongside the home’s ladies and gents. The room was filled with conversation, laughter, and plenty of Christmas cheer as the children shared their creativity and residents offered guidance, stories, and warm encouragement.

Intergenerational visits like this have become a valued part of life at Brindley Court. Research shows that bringing older adults and young people together can have meaningful emotional, social and cognitive benefits. For residents, spending time with children can help reduce feelings of loneliness, boost mood, stimulate memories, and promote a greater sense of purpose. For the pupils, visits provide opportunities to develop empathy, communication skills and confidence while learning from the life experiences of older generations.

Annette Janvier, Home Manager at Brindley Court said:
