
Stoneleigh Care Home in Annfield Plain, Stanley, County Durham, was filled with music, laughter and smiles as Project Z Dance School treated residents to a vibrant and uplifting performance.
The talented young dancers brought energy and enthusiasm into the home, captivating residents with their confidence and skill. Throughout the performance, residents clapped along, sang, and shared plenty of smiles, creating an atmosphere of pure happiness and celebration.
The day was a heartfelt celebration of love, connection and togetherness. Residents and dancers alike shared in the joy, creating a beautiful moment that highlighted how meaningful intergenerational activities can be.

Intergenerational activities such as this are known to have significant wellbeing benefits for older people, helping to boost mood, reduce feelings of isolation and encourage conversation, reminiscence and emotional connection. For the dancers, the visit offered an opportunity to develop empathy, respect and understanding of older generations, demonstrating the power of shared experiences across ages.
With love and relationships as the theme of the afternoon, the performance highlighted the importance of human connection in all its forms. From the pride on the dancers’ faces to the warmth and appreciation shown by residents, the room was filled with mutual respect, affection and happiness.
