Students Enjoy Fun and Friendship at Newfield Lodge Care HomeResidents at HC-One’s Newfield Lodge Care Home in Castleford, West Yorkshire, were delighted to welcome a group of first-year Health and Social Care students from Castleford College for a special afternoon of activities and conversation.

The students spent time with residents playing ball games, completing word searches, colouring, and sharing stories and experiences. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to meet new faces, enjoy meaningful social interaction, and benefit from mental and emotional stimulation. Activities like these are known to support cognitive health, reduce feelings of loneliness, and encourage engagement and wellbeing among older adults.

Lauren Poole, Wellbeing Coordinator at Newfield Lodge, said:
"Our ladies and gents absolutely love meeting new people and having fresh faces to chat with. Visits like this are not only fun, but they also help keep minds active, encourage conversation, and bring so much joy to our residents."

The visit highlights Newfield Lodge’s commitment to fostering community connections, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring residents continue to enjoy stimulating, engaging, and joyful experiences.
