Residents and colleagues at Windsor Court Care Home in Goole, East Yorkshire, were delighted to welcome local heroes from Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, Goole Fire Station, for a special Blue Light Breakfast celebrating the vital work of emergency services.
Firefighters enjoyed a hearty breakfast of bacon, sausage and hash brown sandwiches, alongside plenty of tea and coffee, before spending time chatting with residents, sharing stories and bringing smiles to everyone they met.
A highlight of the morning was the opportunity for residents to see a fire engine up close and learn more about the equipment firefighters use to keep the community safe. Residents even had a go at using some of the equipment themselves, including spraying the fire engine hose – an experience that proved to be a real hit and sparked lots of excitement and laughter.

Our residents loved meeting the firefighters, hearing their stories and having a go with some of the equipment. It was such a fun and engaging morning, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything they do to keep our community safe.”
