HC-One’s Ebor Court Care Home in Nether Poppleton, York, recently had the joy of fulfilling a very special wish from one of its cherished residents, Lorna, after special day at Arnold Clark car showroom.
From her room, Lorna can see the name "Arnold Clark" on the car showroom just outside her window every day. When she shared with Lifestyle Manager Denise her wish to visit Arnold Clark – not just to see the cars, but to enjoy a cup of tea there – the team sprang into action to make it happen.
Lorna repeatedly expressed her hope to see a red car at Arnold Clark, telling Denise, "I want to go to Arnold Clark for a cup of tea and see a red car." Inspired by Lorna’s enthusiasm, Denise reached out to Danny Cunningham, a sales representative at Arnold Clark, who quickly arranged a special tour.
On the big day, Danny greeted Lorna warmly outside the showroom, accompanied by Denise and Carer Christine Burnett. Danny gave Lorna a fascinating grand tour, sharing the history of the store and answering all her questions.
Lorna was especially taken by the showroom’s gleaming floors, saying that they looked "like it’s raining" because they were so polished. To Lorna’s delight, Danny gifted her a flag from the car as a keepsake.
Danny Cunningham, Arnold Clark representative, shared:
"It’s a pleasure to help out. I’d really like to think if it was my grandma, someone else would do the same for me."
