Dedicated Welsh Area Director shortlisted for Leadership and Management in Residential or Nursing CaJacqueline Orrells, Area Director at HC-One, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Leadership and Management in Residential or Nursing Care Award’ Category at the prestigious Wales Care Awards 2022. 

Jacqueline is an Area Director for HC-One’s 14 care homes in Wales. Jacqueline supports and leads her Colleagues, working in the care homes to deliver the best care to the older Residents living there. 

Caroline Price, Area Director at HC-One, who nominated Jacqueline for the award, commented: 
“I nominated Jacqueline as I have seen for herself first hand Jacqueline's commitment, hard work and level of support to others. Although Jacqueline looks after 14 separate care homes, they have become one large family and team under her strong leadership skills so that everyone pulls together to help each other.

“Jacqueline’s practice enhances the quality of service provision by mentoring the staff in the homes in Wales. She is a role model to many of her colleagues and provides a person-centred approach to all of the Residents within the care homes in Wales. Jacqueline holds regular Home Manager meetings and recognises and acknowledges the hard work they are doing by giving out monthly awards to the Home Managers as a sign of her gratitude and as a way of thanking them. She additionally takes an interest in their personal wellbeing and gives out flowers on their birthdays.”


The Wales Care Awards 2022 which returns following a two year postponement due to COVID-19, celebrate excellence and praise individuals who have demonstrated outstanding work within their field across the Wales care sector. HC-One are a gold partner sponsor of the ‘The Craig Thomas Lifetime Achievement Award’ at this year’s Wales Care Awards. The Wales Care Awards ceremony and award dinner will be taking place at City Hall in Cardiff on Friday 21st October 2022, when the winners will be announced across 19 different award categories. 

Hearing of the news of her nomination Jacqueline Orrells, Area Director at HC-One, said: 
“I am so honoured to be a finalist at the Wales Care Awards 2022! I have been privileged to work with some exceptional people who have empowered and supported me on my journey.”

Jacqueline is one of three HC-One finalists that have been shortlisted at the Wales Care Awards across a variety of award categories.
